    Cynthia Hedlund, MA, LMHC

Welcome to my practice. I specialize in working with adults addressing depression, anxiety, life stressors and transitions. I’m experienced in working with emotional trauma, loss, abuse, illness, and bereavement. I also provide therapeutic services for couples with relationship or marital difficulties and those seeking premarital conversations. Additionally, I see individuals dealing with the hardship of a break-up or divorce.

I also see clients who seek to improve their self-esteem and overall assertiveness, boundaries, and sense of direction in life. Therapy is additionally helpful for coming to terms with a difficult past and working to move forward in an empowered way. Many clients come for support and clarity with future goals, both personal and professional. Therapy can often be a place to deepen one’s sense of connection with oneself, or with one’s own spirituality and life path.

My style is generally calm, practical, and attentive; part deep intuitive listening and part interactive conversation. I strive to welcome your whole self, your strengths and your weaknesses, and to support and deepen your personal growth beyond where you may be feeling stuck, hurt, or confused. The focus will always be on your optimal health, and on the goals you would like to achieve in therapy.

    Education and Experience

My education and training has included a number of effective, depth-oriented, therapeutic psychologies. These perspectives serve to open a vital and transformative inquiry into the health of your thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and relationships. Additionally, I value diversity and strive to understand and address biased misuse of power that harms or marginalizes people based on differences or minority status.
